International Experience

Krystal Lacayo has gained extensive international experience through academic programs in Europe and Africa. In 2024, she studied in Denmark and Germany where she explored the funding, development, and maintenance of sustainable urban environments in a global context. Prior to she studied at the University of Cape Town and worked in the communications department at at a national NGO. There, she contributed to podcasts, blogs, social media, and formal publications that shared research on informal settlements, affordable housing, urban planning, and community development.
