As the founder of K. Lacayo Insights, Krystal provides consulting services focused on sustainability, post-secondary guidance, and media. She collaborates with organizations to drive environmental solutions, support students in achieving their academic goals, and create meaningful content that resonates with communities.

Krystal has a proven track record of delivering results in diverse roles, including:

  • Working as an environmental and development consultant at multiple organizations, contributing to advancing sustainable practices and supporting critical community projects.

  • Gaining international experience in South Africa, tackling sustainability challenges at a global level.

  • Serving as a Sean Douglas Leadership Fellow at UNC, where she spearheaded conversations on community leadership for marginalized communities.

  • Establishing HBUNC Media Group, the first and only Black news and entertainment hub at UNC Chapel Hill.

  • Founding GEN-ZERO: The Black Youth Association, Inc., a virtual community for marginalized youth to discuss their community needs and how to be the change they want to see.
